SYNOD AMBASSADORS
MEET AND LEARN ABOUT ST. ANN'S SYNOD AMBASSADORS
Holly and Kellee Heydorn
Holly and Kellee are a mother-daughter duo who are serving as ambassadors for the parish Synod Committee.
For the past 14 years, Holly has been working with our students and sharing her knowledge as the Librarian at St. Ann School. Additionally, Holly is part of the St. Ann School Gala Committee. She reminds us that this year is the Gala's 10th Anniversary and tickets for the April 2nd event are available now through the school!
Holly says, "I was honored to be asked by Monsignor to be a part of this committee and represent the school community. I have also enjoyed working with my daughter on this as well as reflecting on my own faith journey."
Kellee is a busy young woman, but never wavered when asked to be a Synod Ambassador for St. Ann's. A graduate of St. Ann School, Kellee is a Junior at DeSales University, and serves as a Peer Tutor for university students at DeSales. Kellee also works with our young students as an employee with the Extended Care Program at St. Ann School.
"Being a parish ambassador has been an honor. It has given me the opportunity to contemplate my own faith journey as well as connect and listen to my friends and others about theirs," says Kellee.
DR. ROBERT J. O'HARA, JR.
Many may know Bob from his activities within the parish-MOSAIC (Men of St. Ann's in Christ-prayer group), Bible Study, St. Ann's Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree, and the Cathedral Assembly. The former Executive Director of Pennsylvania Catholic Conference, Bob is now retired.
Bob says, "I believe the Synod hopes to gather information from baptized Catholics to gain an understanding of their feelings and experiences in today's Church and also ascertain their hopes for building a stronger, more inclusive, and responsive community of faith."
DONNA SOUSA
Donna is a familiar face around St. Ann's-you see her in her roles as Lector, Communion Minister at Mass and to the homebound, and she is part of the secular Carmelite community. True to her fun personality, Donna laughs and says she is so happily retired, she doesn't even remember her former job title!
Donna adds, "The Holy Spirit is so clearly guiding this Synod journey and I am excited to see what we learn and how it moves our Church on all levels!"
FRED FLEMMING
Our parish gained a bonus ambassador as Fred was designated through the Diocese as a Chartered Organization Representative for St. Ann's Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts. Fred is well known through his work with the parish Scouts, but also with the Knights of Columbus and is a past Grand Knight and current Trustee of St. Ann's Council #12886, and he serves as the Event Lead for St. Ann's Fall Fest (planning is already underway!)
"I hope the meditation on our journey in faith helps us realize how God has acted in our lives," says Fred.
